Niki Rowland, the founder of Wild Child Face & Body Art, is a long-time Lynchburg area resident and an award-winning artist in many mediums including painting, costuming, sculpting and writing. She enjoys art of all kinds, and the mysteries and wonders of the great outdoors. Niki has experience leading groups of all ages—from pre-school to adults. While living in Tidewater, Virginia, Niki worked with the Education Department at Norfolk Botanical Garden where she created and taught badge and pin workshops for Scout Groups and also created and led school programs based on Virginia’s SOLs (Standards of Learning) for K-12th graders. Niki was one of the first instructors for the ‘Lakes Alive’ program, a popular class exploring the wildlife and water cycles of the Garden’s canals, ponds and lakes. She also served as a camp counselor for the Garden’s Summer and Holiday Camps. ‘Ms.Niki’ jump-started NBG’s Family Camp Out program and received rave reviews from attendees.

In addition, Niki has been a summer camp counselor at Wilderness Adventure in New Castle, Virginia, a volunteer for Tom Brown’s Wilderness Survival School in New Jersey, and a guest fire-making instructor for Vickie Shufer’s Outdoor Skills Weekends at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach, VA. Niki also taught her own Native Skills course for Amherst County School’s New Horizons summer enrichment program.
